When the first shot was fired at the modern pentathlon competition at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, Sheila Taormina made history. She became the only woman ever to compete in three different sports at the Olympics. Numerous challenges accompanied this venture, challenges Sheila knew were there – that she had only 3 years to learn 3 of the 5 sports in the pentathlon, that she would be just months shy of her 40th birthday in Beijing, and that her small size would once again not play to her advantage. Amidst these challenges, Sheila set out to shatter the paradigms, and now you have the opportunity to hear her message, one filled with honesty and laughter, but most of all valuable insights into how you can realize your goals.

Sheila’s keynote presentation includes explanations of how she applied various performance tools and thought processes. She draws the many parallels between top of the field athletic preparation and top of the field business performance.

“Sheila has the rare ability to speak to 300 people and make each one feel like they are having a one-on-one conversation with her.”

“Sheila didn’t ask us to put ourselves in her Olympic shoes. She actually put herself in our shoes and made her experiences relevant to our own peaks and valleys.”
